What customers say?

“ I have ordered their Cold Plates (which are superb) many times for town delivery, but finally got a chance to stop by and eat in house too! There is a wonderful view and lots of seating available. The portions are solid and the food was delicious. I will absolutely be back to eat in house again, and will continue to order Cold Plates too! If you haven’t ordered or stopped by, it’s time for you to do so! ”

“ We were driving thru back to St. John's and decided to drop in to check out the food (sorry for the partially eaten fish picture.. was so good I dug into it right away). We had read some reviews online that people really enjoyed the food and location. Our server was from New Brunswick however had family in the area and she was great to deal with. The food was prepared fresh and was delivered in a good time. I was sick of all the deep fried cod over the last few days and really wanted pan fried for a change and it was really worth it. My wife had the club sandwich and she really enjoyed it. The prices were reasonable. It is a great location to visit! ”

“ Some good! This place was recommended to me by someone from the area who lives in 'town' now. I was going to order a cold plate and cheesecake and pickup at one of their drop off locations in town which they have once a week but instead I visited the location 1.5 hours away because: Road trip! I ordered nachos (of course). They were served on a massive size plate and fully loaded with toppings and drizzled with ranch and bbq sauce - the best! My husband had 1pc fi&chi which looked 'deadly'. I had bubble gum cheesecake for dessert which made for a great dessert for my early birthday that we were celebrating. The cheesecake was delicious! If you love bubble ice cream like me, you'll love the bubble gum cheesecake, no doubt. Service was polite. Cafe was rustic themed and appeared clean, it was a cozy size with seating offered upstairs, main level and outdoors. There were gender neutral washrooms. Prices were just slightly higher than average. My only suggestions are: 1) that they have music playing because there was no music on and servers and other customers could be overheard and it was just kinda boring when things went quiet. 2) a full list of drinks and dessert menus to be made because each time I wanted to know drink and cheesecake options, I had to leave my seat to walk up to the cash area to view the beverages in the fridge and/or cheesecake ”

“ The staff and food are amazing. Neat little spot on the hills. Cheesecake is UNREAL. Owner does need to reevaluate the number of staff working during supper rush/peak times. The staff were incredible and firing on all cylinders and doing the best they can. 10/10 to the amazing staff working! ”

“ Sushi Saturday! What a treat. To find excellent sushi this far from a major city was a wonderful surprise. Incredibly light and delicious. We had the tempera, the dynamite roll and California roll. All excellent. I hope you continue sushi Saturdays and consider expanding your offering. It would be nice to see some local scallop, lobster etc. ”

“ Had chicken tenders and fries. They were absolutely amazing. You only need three. I got 5 but it was too much. They were pure boneless skinless chicken breasts cut in 3 pieces. It was extremely tender. The home fries were equally good. We were stuffed. The service was very good and quick. Thank you Red Ochre. We will be back again and again. ”
